LSS is a 200-hour (3 Month) course, and it includes the Senior Fitness Specialist and Youth Exercise Specialist certifications through NASM. For the Senior Fitness portion of this class, we will discuss physiological and anatomical considerations of aging, nutrition for active older adults, fitness assessments for active older adults, safety guidelines, common medical conditions, and program design. For the Youth Exercise portion of the class, we will discuss physiological considerations for youth, nutrition, fitness assessments, flexibility, core/balance and SAQ, along with program design all for the youth population. This course includes both in-person learning in the classroom, as well as hands-on learning in the gym.
