To say this is a common question is an understatement. Juicing vs. BlendingIn actuality, both juicing and blending should play an important role in any wellness program that you are using. That all being said, which one offers more nutrition to you? We’ll delve into both. However, they are both extremely beneficial, albeit in different ways.

Juicing
When you juice, you are extracting water and nutrients from produce, while discarding the indigestible fiber. When you juice and rid produce of indigestible fibers, your digestive system doesn’t need to work as hard to break down you food and absorb the nutrients that your body needs. By juicing, the nutrients are more readily available and in larger quantities, than if you were to just eat the fruit or vegetable whole. One thing to note with juicing, if you are only juicing with fruits, this can cause a rapid spike in your blood sugar, which can lead to mood swings, energy loss, memory problems, and other not-so-great things.

If you have a sensitive digestive system or an illness that keeps your body from processing fiber, then juicing is a great option for you.

Blending
When you are blending, you are getting the whole fruit, all the fruit, and nothing but the fruit. By that, we mean that you are getting the vegetable/fruit, skin, and all the fiber and sugars within it. What blending does, though, is break down the fibers in the fruits and veggies. It breaks it apart and makes it easier for you to digest. One thing for you to note, however, is that when you blend, the nutrients are released more evenly into your blood stream, which keeps your blood sugar from spiking.

So, which of these two offers the user more nutrition? Honestly, there isn’t a solid answer for that. They are just different and offer you different types of nutrients in different types of ways. Do your research before you start to juice or blend and find out which would be more beneficial to you. Or introduce both of them into your wellness program.
